What if the reason you keep reacting the same way…isn’t because you lack self-control…
…but because you’re believing something that isn’t true?
Friend, this is a message that has been sitting heavy on my heart—because I see it every day in the counseling room, and if I’m honest, I’ve seen it in my own life too.
In The Bible, Isaiah 44 gives us a sobering picture of deception—a man holding something in his hand that he believes will save him… and yet Scripture says:
“He could not say, ‘Is there not a lie in my right hand?’”
That line has stayed with me.
Because so often, we’re not just reacting…we’re reacting from what we believe is true.
In this episode, I’m walking you through:
How hidden core beliefs shape your emotions, triggers, and relationship patterns
Why the same reactions keep showing up (even when you want to change)
How this connects to the Unhappy Kid Triangle (UHKT) and the roles we fall into
What it actually looks like to begin renewing your mind with God’s truth (Romans 12:2)
We’re not just talking about behavior change here.
We’re going deeper—into the beliefs underneath it all.
Because when deception feels normal…it takes truth to set you free.
✍️ Companion Blog (Read + Listen in One Place)
I also wrote a companion blog post that focuses specifically on identifying the lies beneath your reactions and how to begin replacing them with truth:

There is a kind of comfort that feels good in the moment…but quietly keeps you stuck.
And if we’re not careful, we can start to prefer feeling betterover actually being transformed.
In this episode, I’m inviting you into a deeper, more honest conversation about why we resist truth—and how choosing comfort over truth can keep us trapped in painful patterns in our relationships, our thinking, and our emotional responses.
We’re walking through Isaiah 30 and uncovering what it means when God’s people said, “Tell us pleasant things…”—and how that same tendency can show up in our lives today.
I’m also sharing a powerful and much-needed teaching on admonishing and rebuking—what they actually mean biblically, how they fit within love and grace, and why avoiding them can keep us (and the people we love) stuck in cycles that never truly change.
If you’ve ever:
Avoided hard conversations to keep the peace
Struggled to receive correction without becoming defensive
Found yourself repeating the same relational patterns
Or felt torn between being “kind” and being truthful
This episode is for you.
Because God is not asking you to live in illusion…He’s inviting you into truth that heals.

Motherhood can feel overwhelming—especially when fear, anxiety, and the need to control begin to take over.
In this episode, I’m sharing a very personal part of my story from my early days as a single mom—walking through the pain of divorce, the uncertainty of my children’s future, and the quiet fear that can creep in when life feels out of your control. I remember what it felt like to carry so much… and not know how everything would turn out.
And as I sat with the Lord recently, He brought me to Psalm 105—not to give me a strategy, but to remind me of something I had forgotten:
👉 The power of remembering His faithfulness.
Because when we forget who God is, we start carrying things that were never ours to hold.
But when we remember…
Everything begins to shift.
In this episode, I’m gently walking you through:
how fear can quietly drive our parenting
why we move into control, striving, or overwhelm
how to surrender what isn’t yours to carry
and how to trust that God is still writing your child’s story—even when you can’t see it
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed as a mom… if you’ve been trying to hold everything together… I want you to know—you’re not alone in this.
🌿 Companion Blog (Read + Listen in One Place)
If you want to slow down and reflect more deeply, I wrote a companion blog for this episode where you can read through the message and process it at your own pace:

So what happens when you finally see it?
You recognize the patterns. You notice the reactions. You realize:
👉 “I don’t want to keep showing up like this…”
But then life happens again…
And you find yourself right back in it.
Reacting.Controlling.Shutting down.
If that feels familiar… you’re not alone.
And you’re not stuck.
This is Part 2 of our two-part series:
Do I Look Like the World? A Heart Check for Real Faith
In Part 1, we slowed down and took an honest look at what our lives are actually revealing—especially in the moments that are hardest to control.
But awareness is just the beginning.
In this episode, we’re going deeper into:
why we keep falling back into the same patterns
what’s really driving our reactions under pressure
and what it actually looks like to walk with the Holy Spirit in real time
Because transformation doesn’t come from trying harder.
It comes from learning how to stay connected.
To abide.
To surrender.
To walk with Him in the very moments you used to react.
And this is where everything begins to shift.
Want to go deeper?

Have you ever had one of those quiet moments with the Lord…
Where He gently asks you a question you can’t ignore?
Not to shame you…but to invite you?
That’s what happened to me this week.
And the question that wouldn’t leave me was this:
👉 If someone really watched my life… would they see Jesus?Or would I look… just like the world?
Not on Sunday…but in the everyday moments.
In this first part of a two-part series, I’m inviting you into that same honest, Spirit-led reflection.
We’re going to slow down and look at:
what Scripture actually calls us to
what our lives are truly revealing under pressure
and the difference between behavior change and real transformation
This isn’t about perfection.
It’s about awareness. It’s about alignment. It’s about letting the Holy Spirit gently show us what’s real.
And if you start to see patterns in your own life…
If you notice places where you’re reacting, controlling, or withdrawing…
That’s not failure.
That’s awareness.
In Part 2, we’ll go deeper into why we keep falling back into these patterns—and what it actually looks like to live differently.
💛 Want to go deeper?
If this stirred something in your heart… I don’t want you to just move on from it.
I want to invite you into the next step.

What if the hardest part about trusting God…is not your faith—but your story?
I want to share something with you that I don’t take lightly.
I didn’t grow up with a father who protected me.I grew up in a home where there was abuse—emotional, physical, psychological, and sexual.
So when I came to know God and heard,“He is your Father…”
That didn’t feel comforting to me.
It felt complicated.
And maybe… it does for you too.
In this episode, I’m opening up about my own journey of learning to separate God’s character from human sin—and why this has been one of the hardest, but most healing parts of my walk with Him.
We’re going to gently walk through:
Why trusting God can feel so hard after father wounds
How your past may be shaping your view of Him
What Psalm 118:6 really means when it says, “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear”
And how to begin untangling truth from trauma… without forcing trust or rushing healing
This is not about trying harder.
It’s about slowing down…getting honest…and allowing God to show you who He really is—in a way that feels safe, steady, and real.
Go Deeper
I also wrote a companion blog for you where you can sit with this more slowly:
God Is Not Who Hurt You: Healing Trust and Separating Truth from Trauma

Why do you feel the need to control everything…and why does it leave you feeling so anxious, responsible, and exhausted?
If you’re honest, it probably doesn’t feel like “control.”It feels like responsibility.Like caring deeply.Like trying to hold your life—and everyone in it—together.
But what if the pressure you’re carryingisn’t actually yours to carry?
In this episode, we’re going deeper than behavior.
We’re uncovering what’s underneath the need to control:👉 fear👉 misplaced security👉 and the belief that “if I don’t manage this… everything will fall apart”
Through a powerful, side-by-side look at Psalm 49 and Psalm 84, I’ll walk you through:
Why control is often rooted in fear—not strength
What you may be trusting that was never meant to hold you
The subtle lie that keeps you stuck in anxiety and over-responsibility
And how to finally let go… without feeling like your life will unravel
This isn’t about becoming passive. And it’s not about “doing less.”
It’s about learning how to live from a different place—a place of peace, trust, and true security in God.
If you’ve been:
overthinking
over-functioning
or feeling like everything depends on you
this episode will meet you right where you are.

If you’re walking through pain that hasn’t gone away…this episode is for you.
Maybe you’ve prayed.Maybe you’ve asked God to take it away—again and again.And yet… it’s still here.
And somewhere deep down, the questions start to rise:
God, where are You?Why won’t You heal this?Did I do something wrong?
In this episode, I want to sit with you in that space.
Not with quick answers. Not with clichés.But with truth that can actually hold you when the pain doesn’t leave.
We’re going to walk through Psalm 6 and 2 Corinthians 12:7–10, and I’m going to show you something that changed everything for me:
👉 Sometimes God doesn’t remove the suffering…because He is doing something deeper within it.
We’ll talk about:
Why suffering is not always a result of sin
How God can use affliction to refine, protect, and draw us closer
What it means that His grace is sufficient
And how Christ’s power is made perfect in your weakness
I also share personally about my journey with chronic migraines…and how the Lord has met me—not by taking the pain away, but by sustaining me in it.
If you’re tired…if you feel unseen…if you’re carrying something heavy that no one else fully understands…
You are not alone.
And God is not absent in your suffering.

Sometimes the most painful realizations in parenting come years later.
Our children grow older. They become teenagers, young adults, or even parents themselves. And somewhere along the way we begin to see things more clearly.
We remember moments when we were overwhelmed… Times when we reacted in frustration… Seasons when we may not have been as emotionally present as our children needed.
And many parents quietly carry a heavy question in their hearts:
Did I miss my chance?
In this episode, we explore the powerful connection between attachment and the Gospel—how the relationships children experience with their parents shape their sense of safety, identity, and belonging.
We talk about:
What attachment really is and why it matters
How children develop core beliefs about themselves through relationships
The emotional needs God designed children to have
Why no parent gets it perfectly right
And most importantly, how healing and repair are still possible—even when your children are older
Because the message of Scripture is not perfection.
It’s restoration.
Through humility, repentance, and a willingness to step off unhealthy relational patterns like the Unhappy Kid Triangle, parents can begin moving toward truth, responsibility, and repair.
And when parents change, something powerful often begins to shift in families.
God is still able to restore what feels broken.
Your story is not finished.

Have you ever been in a spiritual environment where everyone seemed to agree… but something in your spirit told you something wasn’t right?
In this episode, Danielle walks through the powerful and sobering story of Micaiah and King Ahab in 1 Kings 22 — a moment in Scripture that reveals how unhealthy leadership dynamics can develop when truth becomes unwelcome.
When 400 prophets told King Ahab exactly what he wanted to hear, one lone prophet stood up and spoke the truth. For that courage, he was mocked, struck, and imprisoned.
This story isn’t just ancient history.
It speaks directly to the realities many believers face today when navigating spiritual authority, church hurt, manipulation, and the cost of standing in truth.
In this episode, Danielle explores:
What 1 Kings 22 reveals about spiritual leadership and discernment
How unhealthy systems form when leaders surround themselves with affirming voices
How the Unhappy Kid Triangle can show up in spiritual environments
Why truth-tellers are often labeled “divisive” or “negative”
Practical steps for setting healthy boundaries when dealing with controlling or spiritually abusive leadership
How to step off unhealthy relational dynamics and walk in wisdom, courage, and peace
If you’ve ever questioned your instincts, felt silenced for asking honest questions, or struggled to process church hurt, this conversation offers both biblical clarity and compassionate encouragement.
You are not alone, and healing is possible.
xoxo,
Danielle
